MTPM Introduces the F800HL Mud Pump, Delivering 7000 PSI Performance in High-Pressure Drilling
2025-08-28
MTPM has announced the successful development and first delivery of its new F800HL mud pump, marking a significant step forward in the evolution of drilling equipment. Two complete skid-mounted Pump Units, including charging pumps and manifold systems, were recently manufactured and dispatched to a well-known domestic drilling contractor. These pumps will soon be integrated into full rig packages, positioning the F800HL as a pioneering solution for the next stage of drilling operations.
The F800HL project originated from a clear market requirement gap. For many years, the F800 pump has been a conventional choice in the oil and gas drilling industry, offering 35 MPa of working pressure. While this specification has met the needs of most rigs in its horsepower range, operators have increasingly demanded higher pressures without stepping up to the larger F1300 or F1600 pump models. Recognizing this challenge, MTPM applied its technical expertise and adopted design principles from the proven F1600HL model. The result is the F800HL, a pump that maintains the manageable footprint and power requirements of the F800 while reaching a maximum pressure of 7000 PSI and delivering 38.9 L/s displacement.
This achievement represents more than just an upgrade of an existing model. It establishes a new benchmark in the F800 model, one that allows drilling contractors to operate with higher efficiency and reliability in demanding well conditions. For contractors, the F800HL brings the ability to handle deeper formations and higher mud densities while keeping the rig’s power package within a practical range. By combining compact horsepower with high-pressure output, the F800HL ensures that operators do not need to oversize their equipment to achieve modern drilling requirements.
The first two units delivered by MTPM are complete skid-mounted systems, designed for rapid integration into rig layouts. Each system includes charging pumps and circulation components, configured for optimal performance and easy maintenance in the field. These systems will be assembled as part of full Drilling Rigs by the client, underscoring the product’s readiness for commercial deployment.
Market response to the F800HL has already been encouraging. As a new product in both domestic and international markets, it brings an unprecedented combination of specifications that no other F800 mud pump currently offers. While the traditional F800 has long been considered a standard model, the high pressure mud pump redefines expectations by bridging the gap between conventional 35 MPa pumps and the larger, more power-intensive F1600HL class.
For MTPM, this development also reflects the company’s continuing commitment to innovation in oilfield equipment. By drawing on years of experience in pump design and production, the engineering team was able to refine critical structural elements to withstand continuous high-pressure loads. The result is a pump that balances strength, reliability, and cost-efficiency, helping contractors meet modern drilling challenges with confidence.
Looking ahead, the F800HL is expected to find broad application in domestic drilling as well as international projects where rigs in the F800 horsepower range must deliver higher performance. The introduction of this model enriches MTPM’s product ranges, also offers the industry a timely solution as wells become deeper and operational conditions more complex.
With the successful delivery of the first two skid-mounted sets, the F800HL drilling mud pump is now moving from development into onsite operations. This milestone confirms the company’s ability to anticipate industry needs and translate them into practical, high performance equipment. As the units are commissioned in the field, MTPM is confident the F800HL will prove itself as a reliable workhorse and a strategic advancement in drilling technology.
